Itinerary description
This was a trek organized by stf. Starting point was Amboli, about 20km from Junnar. About 400m climb took us to the base of Dhakoba, which is just a hillock of 100m or so. This is not a Gad, there are no remnants of fortification. The views of Kokankada from the top are fantastic. After getting down, the next point of interest was Dhakoba temple. Then we gradually descended to a river, up again to the base of Durg, and two Durga wadi hamlets. Final section is a steep descent to Bhivade village. There is no technical difficulty in this trek. This being the tail end of monsoon season, green forests and lush meadows, carpets of yellow and blue wildflowers abound all around the path.
