Itinerary description
This is our tracks from wandering around Devils Hopyard State Park. This is a beautiful place to visit, plenty of places to have a picnic. We visited it during the week, it still had a few people enjoying the park, but I assume nothing like what must show up on weekends. The main attraction is Chapman Falls, which are quite the site to see. Like any falls, certainly best during high water times. There are many attractions – covered bridge, stone underpass to walk through, as well as many trails to hike on. It is a hilly area, so if you venture out on the trails, expect to do some climbing. There is an extensive primitive camping area, so if you like to pitch a tent, this is the spot. There is a fee for camping, but all other attractions seem to be free. There are two entrances, one above the falls and the other below the falls. There are numerous picnic areas, again above the falls and the larger area below the falls. Happy trails to all!
