Itinerary description
Devil's Hammock Wildlife Management Area - I hiked one of the trails in Devil's Hammock WMA where it dead ended at a swamp. There are some trails that lead off of this main trail so I would like to come back and explore more of those.
The natural communities are mixed hardwood forest, bottom land forest, basin swamp, depression marsh, dome swamp, floodplain swamp, and pine plantation. It is the headwaters of the Waccasassa River and Otter Creek. The Devil's Hammock tract is located in Levy County southwest of Bronson on SR 24 and the Waccasassa River. http://www.srwmd.state.fl.us/index.aspx?nid=179
