Itinerary description
A lovely walk following the route of the ancient water channel on grassy paths, then on tracks heading more steeply down towards the city. The final section threads through streets and skirts Santa Apolonia hill before finishing in the Plaza de Armas. The route is fairly direct and mainly avoids the road used by buses and taxis to access Cumbemayo. I started recording towards the end of the regular visitor circuit around Cumbemayo. At the end of the regular tourist circuit, carry on straight ahead alongside the water channel instead of heading up to the left towards the parking area.
