Itinerary description
We started at Khadsamble village in Raigad district. About an hour’s flatish walk followed by small climb gets you to the buddhist caves.
At this point, our guide who we had hired from Khadsamble village got very agitated that we were not taking his preferred route via Kevane pathar. So much that he made us walk in some unknown direction and then just took off. Our trek almost went for a toss, but for some sensible decisions by the leads. So we retraced the path a bit and walked over to a nearby village - Nagshet Kond(?). Friendly villagers there gave us a place to rest, have lunch, refill badly needed water. Someone also agreed to show us the way. So we managed to climb the ghat, under afternoon sun and made it to asangaon village by 4pm. The trek ended with a tasty meal of khichadi and dahi, cooked by our volunteers.
Derya ghat is not used much these days. It is a tough climb, esp under hot sun. Lots of water (3ltr pp), food, dry fruits, electrol.
To get to Khadsamble - please look up google map. It is close to sudhagad, but you have to take a different turn off from the highway. 3hr drive from pune.
Asanwadi is located in the vicinity of Ghanagad, Ekole, Ghutke area, at the western end of mulshi lake.
If you decide to follow this trail, there is probably a shorter connection to the base of the ghat, rather than a trip to kond nagshet

Hello sir, I am planning to do Derya ghat this weekend. Do you have any contavts from Nagshet who could show the way? Also, are there any risky rock patches on the Derya ghat trail? Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks!
Hello, I don’t have any contact number, sorry. There aren’t any rock patches requiring rope, just a few places that are a bit exposed, and quite a bit of scree. There wasn’t any water, except at Nagshet. So carry enough.
Got it, thanks
