Itinerary description
This is one of the most popular hiking tours in Mallorca. The 10 kilometer long tour passes
through a beautiful cultural landscape and is well marked all the way.
We started at the bus stop in Deia. A couple of hundred meters ahead (if you come from Soller) there is a large information board. Just below you will find the first sign "GR221 / "Soller 2 h 30 min". This feels maybe a bit optimistic.
(If you got the time; take the opportunity to take a detour from the trail down to the idyllic Bay of Cala de Deía where there are opportunities for a bath and a to visit one of the two small restaurants. The beach consists of smooth stones and rocks and the water is beautiful turquoise.)
Just before Gr221 crosses Ma-10 at Hotel Son Bleda, sits an amazing little cafe, Son Mico, "world famous" for its pastries, especially its apple-, lemon- and orange pies. Treat yourself to a break here. The cafe is situated in an old finca with stunning views over the mountains and the Mediterranean sea in distance.
You can choose to continue both to Soller and Port de Soller from Son Mico.
The walking trail towards Port Soller ends at the lighthouse "Es Faro" with a great view of Port Soller and the mountains. From here it is 2 km down to the beach "Platja d'en Repic in Port Soller.
