Itinerary description
This is a short but very interesting walk: it is a little bit adventurous, the scenery is beautyful with old trees and exuberant nature and finally the rockdwelling is one of the best preserved and fascinating I encountered in Sicily. The start is next to the entrance of a mill where you can leave the car alongside the busy road. The name of this walk refers to the cava Bauli and to the rockdwelling (ddiery). The rockdwelling or village extends over three levels and counts numerous rooms, more or less well preserved. The access is made possible through a series of makeshift ladders and ropes. This is the somewhat difficult part. If you have vertigo, maybe it is better to explore only the ground level. To complete the circular route, you continue and with a little climb you leave the canyon and return to your starting point through the fields. I decided to make a little detour to avoid a herd of cows.
