Itinerary description
A dismal, drizzly, dreary last morning hike from lovely Iford village to Eastbourne. This part of the route goes through the gorgeous villages of Alfriston and Jevington. To be fair the weather turned about the half way stage today, so I had super nice views to the end point. Another 30km, 800 metre day to finish off things.
All in all then, that was a 175km five day hike, with around 4,000 metre of height gain. To give you an idea, the Tour of Mont Blanc is the same distance with 8,900 metres of ascent.
I can’t advocate the beauty of the walk enough. The countryside is sublimely stunning, the towns and villages are charming, the churches are distinct and beautiful, it simply shows the best of England.
Ohhh yes, for trig pointers and Hump baggers, there’s loads on this one. About 15 kilometres of diversions to get them all!
