Itinerary description
Day 1: Winchester to Coombe — South Downs Way.
A bit of a five day fast packing session with a 11kg pack along the 100 miles / 160 kilometres of the South Downs Way. A delightful 32 km hike day with 600m of ascent in just over six and a half hours. The day started from the historic city of Winchester to just north of Horndean. A beautiful, beautiful day, on ancient paths crossing exquisite English countryside. All this after a delightful evening the night before with good friends in Winchester. I think I owe somebody a bottle of Baileys!
