Itinerary description
You can park the car on main road that connects Shaile and Daroun.
The start will be uphill between old houses before crossing the river that was dry (January 2021). Effective this point forward, part of the trail (300 to 400 meters) will not be so easy to find and follow through the bushes.
I did not know that we will go through a moutain called "Ornet El Sawda" (other than the famous one that you can find in North Lebanon).
On your way, you will pass by "Mar Ephrem" church and sentinel for untill you reach the village of Daroun.
I walked on the asphalt, with almost no car at all, till I reached a sign showing the directions for 3 tracks: Dareb El Moujawkal, Dareb El Amar and Dareb Mar Youhana.
From there, I followed Dareb El Amar and hiked downhill in a beautiful oak and pine forest.
Once you reach the horses stable, you will have to quit the official trail.
Follow my map, you will head tor the river bed once again to cross it. Here, you will start hiking uphill and you will have to activate all your trail finding skills. The ascent will be tough through the BUSHES. This exercise will be your leg day for the week :)
Once you reach the asphalt road, it will take you approximately 10 to 15 mins till you reach the starting point.
The trail is moderate but difficult in the last part (from the river bed to the staying point, the track is too steep), not for beginners and kids. That's why I will rate it as difficult.
In general the trail was found still not too consumed, not well maintained... But, it was worth the try!
Enjoy the nature and keep it clean!
