Dambovita River Linear Park (Parc VACARESTI NATURAL PARK)

Văcărești Natural Park has been established by the Governmental Decision no 349/2016. A natural park is “a protected area managed mostly for landscape conservation and recreation”. It corresponds to Category V of IUCN classification, namely “protected landscape”. Văcărești Natural Park is the first urban natural park in Romania, only 5 km away from the city centre, being also the largest green space in Bucharest, covering 183 ha. Văcărești Natural Park has its own administration body (according to the Contract no 3370/GLG/07.04.2017 signed with the Ministry of Environment) that manages the park in partnership with the City Hall and other institutions and organisations with strong experience in nature protection and conservation, research, ecotourism and education. Biserica Bucur Ciobanul, inchinata Sfintilor Atanasie si Chiril ai Alexandriei, este o biserica ortodoxa din Bucuresti, poate chiar cea mai veche biserica din capitala. Deoarece de-a lungul vremii, fiind cercetate originile bisericutei, au fost hotarate datari diferite, pana astazi "biserica lui Bucur" nu are o datare exacta. Pentru o vreme, smerita bisericuta a fost folosita drept paraclis de Manastirea Radu Voda; astazi, biserica monument istoric de prima importanta este biserica de parohie. Desi documentele istorice nu infatiseaza cu certitudine informatii referitoare la intemeierea ei, deci fara a avea un "act de nastere", Biserica Bucur Ciobanul, ale carei inceputuri se pierd in negura vremurilor legendare, ca si in cazul intemeierii Bucurestiului, a ramas a fi pastratoarea frumoasei traditii orale despre legendarul intemeietor al cetatii de pe Dambovita.

Bucur Ciobanul Church, dedicated to Saints Athanasius and Cyril of Alexandria, is an Orthodox church in Bucharest, perhaps even the oldest church in the capital. Because over time, the origins of the church have been researched, different dates have been decided, to this day "Bucur's church" does not have an exact date. For a time, the humble church was used as a chapel by Radu Voda Monastery; Today, the most important historical monument church is the parish church. Although the historical documents do not certainly show information about its foundation, so without having a "birth certificate", Bucur Ciobanul Church, whose beginnings are lost in the mists of legendary times, as in the case of the founding of Bucharest, remained the custodian the beautiful oral tradition about the legendary founder of the fortress on Dambovita.
