Itinerary description
Level 3
Total ascent: 1070m
Total descent: 878m
Peak: 1154m
Lowest point: 70m
Location: Haidian
Drive time: 1.5 hour each way The starting point:
Dajuesi is located in Haidian, which is part of Yangtai Mountain. The original “Magic Spring Temple” was builton this site during the Liao dynasty (907-1125 AD). After 20 minutes walking,we are going to go up substantially till the first top. The path is called MiaofengAncient trail. It’s built by an eunuch to please CiXi who was a Dragon Ladyduring Qing Dynasty.
The crossing point:
YangshanQiyin Temple is located on the western side of Yangtai Mountain which was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty and became a royal temple. But it was destroyed three times in history, once is by the Japanese invasion of China, twice is by the culture revolution, and third times is by the destructive restoration in 2010. Now there are only two old towers left. This has become the biggest unfinished project in Beijing, I don't know if it is one of or the one.
The ending point: Nanzhuang village.
Tres belle randonnée (pas en boucle) assez difficile mais abordable ! A l’arrivée, petite supérette bière, ritz, glace !!!
Olivier, Jacqueline et Yannick avec Hickers family.
