The walking tour begins in the city of Mnichovo Hradiště. There is a beautiful Renaissance castle with white and red plaster. To admire are collections of paintings, porcelain and ceramics, old library once managed by Giacomo Casanova, castle park with the church of St. Anna where the tomb of the famous Czech commander Hertog van Wallenstein.
Following the red route, you will reach the ruins of the Valečov castle after five kilometers. During the thirty-year war in the 17th century, the castle was looted. The remains of the walls that are left over are formerly covered with a wooden roof. In high season you can participate in a guided tour in Valečov.
The next castle on the route is Kost. A well-preserved medieval fortress, which was burned and rebuilt countless times - hence the Gothic appearance. Inside you can see the original "black" kitchen and a collection of weapons. In high season there are performances by medieval theater company and knight tournaments.
From your overnight stay you have a view to this castle. In case of insufficient capacity, an alternative accommodation is diverted.
