After a delicious breakfast you leave Nové Mesto in a westerly direction and arrive at the learning path Jáchymovské peklo. Literally translated this means 'the hell of Jáchymov'. As the name suggests, today you make a trip to the dark past of this region. The path recalls the thousands of political prisoners who were forced to work in the uranium mines here. The learning path also pays attention to the ecology and nature of the Erzgebirge.
You will end up at Nové Mesto again. From here you descend further to the spa town of Jáchymov. In the stately spa buildings, patients are treated with metabolic disorders and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. But Jáchymov (Joachimsthal) is not only famous for its healing thermal waters. In the Middle Ages, silver was extracted here and around 1500 the first silver thalers were beaten.
More about the history of the city can be seen in the local museum housed in the former currency.
From the city you can see the radio mast on the Klínovec mountain. This top can be reached in 15 minutes with the chairlift. You can also walk, the height difference is 428 m.
From Klínovec it is only a bit of a descent and you are back in Boží Dar.
