Hikers Giant MountainsToday begins the trek: on to the "Giants". The first kilometers will be heavy, because you have to increase considerably: you have to bridge a height difference of 700 meters. *
* Possible alternative: from Špindlerův Mlýn take the lift to Medvedin, so you can cover 500m difference in altitude in 15 minutes. You then partly run a different route.
Once on the ridge you will soon be rewarded for climbing: the mountains offer a beautiful view over the valley of the Elbe. If you are at the Vrbatova Bouda refuge, a legendary skiers' hut from the beginning of the 20th century, you will see the mountain Kotel and large stones Harrachovy Kameny on your right.
Along the mountain Kotel you descend a bit further until you arrive at your first stop.
