Špindlerův Mlýn lies at an altitude of around 700m. From here the trek starts: on to the "snow". The first kilometers will be heavy, because you have to climb steeply.
Possible alternative: take the lift from Špindlerův Mlýn to Svaty Petr, so you can cover a difference of 500 meters in 15 minutes. You then partly run a different route.
From Špindlerův Mlýn you follow part of the Krkonošská lyžařská magistrála, a 71 km long cross-country ski route. You leave this route after about 10km and walk towards the ridge. Now you can continue on a plateau to the place where you will spend the first night: Luční Bouda (1410m).
