We walked this trail in December, after a day of heavy rain. This made the crossing of the stream sometimes challenging. Moreover, two times we heard falling rocks in the distance; so it would have been wiser to have walked this trail another day (and so advises a sign at the beginning of the trail). Nevertheless, we had a great time. We didn't need our GPS in the gorge, but it came in handy when we left the gorge, since the trail to the car was not obvious at first. Thanks!
We will be staying near Pafos during February. I'm still in the UK planning the holiday. I will certainly add a comment after completing the walk. Thanks
A great scramble - thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks

An excelent shortcut for the much longer route in the popular Rother walking guide. This trail suggest an alternative return, which follows a safe - not to steep - climb out of the gorge, some goat tracks through gorgeous meadows, and a dirt track. This track passes some very small farms with goats and pigs, and part of the juniperus forrest. The last few yards to the parking to get to the indicated start of the walk is quite bumpy, But you can even drive a bit furher to access the official car park at the entrance of the gorge. I saw other hikers undertake dangeous climbs at the steep slopes of the gorge to circumvent obstacles, putting themselves and other hikers at risk because of falling rocks. I strongly recommend staying close to the water, and do not take small children with you.
Guys, its very intriguing the way u described the trail! how much time it took you to do it?
I don't remember exactly how long it took, it was an afternoon but surely not more than three hours.
Back home I checked my archives: entrance of the gorge at 11:45, end of the gorge at 13:45 and back at our car at 15:00

I did the track during my vacation trip to Cyprus and had a great time. There is no need for the GPS inside the gorge as there is no way out but after at the point of exit it was nice to have it. All waypoints are very exactly and easy to follow.

one of the best hikes we've done in Cyprus... quite easy to follow, just need to stay close to the water and it's easy to navigate to the end. It ends in a small meadow and the trail then goes up to the plateau with few farm barns with goats (from what we've seen)

Very nice trail but proper walking shoes are a must! This app will help you to orientate how much longer to the end of the gorge. The way back was a little bit different, we did not want to go through the deep grass of a meadow so we went around and then continued on the dusty road mentioned here.
I did this nice trail today. Be carreful to stay near the water (no climbing on the rocks needed !). Thanks LucT for this trail :-)

After the valley it was not so easy to find the right way.
The mix of the water and the open fields - fantastic!
Beautiful trail, don't go if you except rain at winter can be dangerous. At winter gum boats are nice to have. Don't go of selected path looks risky open your eyes and find a safe one.
