Itinerary description

This is unofficial trail which also lets you visit Machairas monastery by foot as an extension of the route or by a short drive. On the way we saw an old shepherds' place for milking goats.
This trail as well has in intersection with Agios Onoufrios Trail https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/agios-onoufrios-nature-trail-kapedes-120102548 and you may combine the two.

TERRAIN: dirt roads and fire breakers mostly, short parts of asphalt roads. Fire breakers has most of ascents and descents en route and some of them are of 60-70 degrees.

SEASON: the 1st part of the trail has about 50-60% of shade and the 2nd one lacks it significantly. In colder seasons you may witness a river in the 1st part of the trail which you will follow for some time.

SIGNS: no signs, the trail is unofficial

KIDS: conquering the fire breakers is the most difficult, thus kids of min 7-8 years should attend. In our group we had smaller ones thus at a certain point we had to switch to the motorway in order to ease the ascent.
