Itinerary description

This gentle rural hike is along the Cowichan Valley Trail (CVT) from Tansor to Westwood Road. This trail is very fl_____at & although not spectacular in terms of scenery it is interesting historically.

This portion of the CVT is along the abandoned E&N Railway and passes by the site of the Hillcrest Lumber Co.'s Sahtlam mill site & its associated graveyard for Chinese mill workers.

You could proceed along the trail past the termination point of this hike to the Town Of Lake Cowichan (approx. 20 km).

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 1A.
