Itinerary description

What a wonderful time we had in Sardinia on the Camino di Santu Jacu. The trail brought us through the beautiful hilly landscape of Sardinia, through its porkesque villages and the many archeological sites. And of course from coast to coast! An accessible and beautiful trail!
NOTES
⁃ we hiked in Februari 2022 from Cagliari to Porto Torres (NoBo) in roughly one month.
⁃ The trail is marked with yellow arrows, however a GPS is recommended.
⁃ You will pass many Nuraghes, which are worth taking a closer look at.
⁃ We added many Points of Interest (water sources, supermarkets, picnic sites etc.) directly in OpenStreetMap (also used by Wikiloc). We encourage everyone to improve the map; a very easy way is to do this through Organic Maps (iOS & Android).
ALTERNATIVES
⁃ We did not walk along the train tracks between Meana and Sorgono. Although it is possible, its rather annoying to hike (and a bit boring). We found a more direct route, but had to pass some private fences.
⁃ We did not go to Ardara, which makes the routes 10 km shorter
PRACTICALITIES
Water
In most villages there are springs. We also carried a filter as it gives us more flexibility. Alternatively there are many opportunities to buy water.
Food
There are many supermarkets and minimarkets along the trail. Just be aware that between 13:00-16:30 most of them will be closed.
Sleeping
We had a tent with us and wildcamped all nights. There are also several opportunities on the way to sleep inside.
Roads
⁃ From Cagliari to Sedilo it where mainly gravel roads, nice to walk. However after Sedilo it was a lot of road walking, at times busy roads, which was not too nice.
⁃ we had to pass only one ford: between Noragugume and Bolotana
