Itinerary description
The walk is probably easier the other way around, because the climb to the highest point will be less steep. However, Cruzinha ia quite remote and it will be easier to get a ride from Ponta do Sol. It ia also a long and slow drive to Cruzinha and I would not have enjoyed that after a long walk, but that is personal.
From Cruzinha there is only one path to take along the coast and this path you will follow for aproximately four hours until you reach Fontainhas. There is no other way to go and getting lost is not an option.
In Fontainhas we had a nice lunch at bar Tchù. Here you can get a nice catchupa to walk the last hour of the way.
Along the way you will pass two small villages, Formighuinas and Corvo, where it was possible to get a drink.
After Fontainhas you take the larger dirt road to Ponta do Sol.
