Itinerary description

The rocky path rises steeply up Whin Ben to join the easy ridge crest of Whiteside leading onto Hopegill Head - a very enjoyable path with great views and only minimal effort after the initial ascent. Extended the route to take in Grisedale Pike before skirting Sand Hill to rejoin the original route at Coledale Hause. Took the path along the north eastern edge of Grasmoor to rise onto its large plateau. We returned over Wandope, descended the ridge of Whiteless Edge to reach Whiteless Pike providing great views towards Buttermere. Dropped down to traverse Rannerdale Knotts before picking up a path returning to Lanthwaite.

Great trail, slightly adapted as a different start point and missed out girisdale due to weather, and our legs. Excellent views once you are up.
