Do you know what the flowers/memorial was about? I've hiked that area before and there is a lot of old Florida history around there. Thanks for posting your hikes. Jay
I’m not sure. There were pictures and flowers - also a strange necklace pinned to a tree. I left everything as it was but interesting discovery none the less.

By the way, did you know there is an abandoned mine a little farther south on Croom Rital Rd? It's not as well explored however it's interesting. If interested check the trail named "Croom II" on my Wikiloc account.
Awesome! I’ll check out for sure. I did find the old phosphate mine area off the FT part of the trail. Interesting stuff man!
The mine I'm talking about is about 1.5 miles south of where you parked for your "Croom WMA - A\B Loop hike".
Also, there is also some old foundation relics of a sugar mill that was in production in late 1800. The location of the sugar mill is somewhat in the same area as the mine. If I can be of help just let me know.
