Itinerary description
This hike didn't work out as planned and we ended up doing a portion of two different trails. The Crests of Kennisis has a different start and stop point which would require two vehicles or a return hike back to the start point (double your mileage and your time... total of approx 14 km and 5 hours). The Circuit of 5 viewpoints was our objective but your slightly hungover correspondent mislead the crew at scenic viewpoint #4. I know Sue, next time I'll listen and we will get it right!
The start point was easy to locate (east of hwy 35 on Little Hawk Lake Road / #13) and while it can be crowded there are numerous places to park at the trail head. Take a picture of the map posted on the information board and the trail begins at the edge of the parking lot.
The path is in good shape, well used and regularly marked. Our route took us through mixed forest, past several outcroppings of rock, over a small creek and had several nice viewpoints. There is some noticeable elevation changes but our crew of 7 handled it pretty easily (ok there were some minor bellyaches along the way).
Not a bad hike, but just not quite what we had planned. Next time I am in the area I'll be sure to hike and post the 'circuit' route.
Edit: See "Circuit of 5 Viewpoints" for the loop trail.
See "Crests of Kennisis" for the trail to Log Chute

Another Great Trail! Keep them coming. :)
Thanks, there are a half dozen trails in the area and I plan on heading up there again. There is a 'log chute' once used for getting logs down the rapids that is at the start/end of Crests of Kennisis. Its worth a visit and supposedly is the last one left in the province.
