Cross A262 into Chapel Lane. After a few steps, turn R onto footpath and keep straight. After nearly ½ mile, cross lane, and head slightly L across field, up through woods. Go through gate at top and keep ahead on path. Cross lane, up steps into playing field and continue with hedge on L. (Detour L to visit impressive church and Cranbrook town).

Keep straight past playground and turn R on tarmac path by bowling green. Turn R in front of forest school and follow path L. Fork L across grassy area to gate near house. Follow fenced path and cross main road. Continue on path signed Flishinghurst. Fork R through gate onto main path through woods. Fork R when path divides. Continue to A262 and cross onto narrow path.

At junction of paths, go through gate and turn R down stony drive. Turn R on lane and immediately L on byway. Follow surfaced track past farm and turn R near bungalow. Follow way-marked track through woods and downhill beside field (hedge on L). Keep straight through gate in bottom corner near half-timbered Friezley and turn L up lane.

Follow lane through Hocker Edge and path through woods. Follow path at end L past cottages. Turn R onto lane, soon R again through metal gate into field, straight towards trees. Cross stile into woods. Follow way-marked path through trees. Keep straight through tall metal gate in chicken farm fence. Head diagonally R across grass through small plantation and second gate.

Continue beside fence. Turn L through gate, trees, another gate. Keep straight over footbridge into woods. After about 100m, fork diagonally L onto narrower way-marked path through trees. Turn L at crossing track onto path near edge of wood, along fence, and back into woods. Follow curving path and fork R near ditch, past green container, to reach main road. Cross carefully and turn L for 80m. Turn R through gate and R onto another track with fence on L. At corner of fence, fork R on path across clearing and keep straight through trees. Cross stile and continue. Turn L on lane.

Turn R over stile after last house. Immediately after pond, turn L over stiles, through meadows and gates. Turn R down lane for ½ mile, over bridge and up. When the lane swings L at top, turn R onto bridleway. Follow track R towards Sissinghurst Castle.

Keep straight past moat. Turn L before oast houses, follow track R and R. Turn L through car park. At far end, continue with orchard on L. Join path through woods and keep straight. Reaching junction at end, turn L over stile passing orchard on L. Keeping straight into trees ahead, turn diagonally R on defined path and L along far side. Continue into woods, over footbridge, up beside another orchard and L through bushes to join track. Follow track to Sissinghurst village. Turn R along main road back to Milk House.
