The Petite Nation River is a tributary of the left bank of the Ottawa River in western Quebec, Canada. It has its source in the Laurentians region and flows into the Ottawa River, in the homonymous region, near Plaisance, in Quebec, in Canada.
The name of this Quebec river refers to the Algonquin people who inhabited this region, the Weskarini, which means "people of the small nation"

From Thurso to Papineauville (20kms) Km 0.0 Leave the parking lot by crossing Victoria Street in front of Thurso Church to take Fraser Street and walk to Lyons Street. Continue on rue Lyons to rue Galipeau. Km 0.5. Take rue Galipeau on the left for about 0.4 km until you reach a bike path and a footpath on the right. Km 0.9. Take the bike path and the walking trail and continue to the end at the junction of rank 5 East. Km 2.0. Turn right on Rte 5 East and walk about 5.1 km until you reach the junction with Montée du Gore. Km 7.1. Take the Chemin des Cascades on the right (east) for about 3.8 km to Côte St-Charles (right). Km 10.9. Continue on Côte St-Charles for 5.1 km to the junction with Route 148 Km 16. Turn left on Route 148 and continue for 3.2 km to Papineauville Church. Km 19.2. Arrival at the Papineauville church located at 292 Papineau Street
