Itinerary description

This is a section of the Great North Walk. Start at Cowan Station and walk to Brooklyn. Catch the train back to Cowan. Have a break down at Jerusalem Bay on the Cowan Creek.

    Don'r believe the minus 91 metres in the profile. It seems to take the GPS a while to settle in with altitude accuracy. There was a fare bit of up and down in this walk though.

    i am looking into the feasibility of riding the great north walk on mtn bike. do you think it would be possible.

    I'm not a mountain bike rider. I know they can go amazing places but some of the GNW that I have walked I think would be very difficult to ride. You could do some research and find alternative sections (firetrails etc).

    About the cycling. YOu could ask Tom Brennan website@ozultimate.com . He's got a lot of experience at both cycling and bushwalking in the area.

    It would be unrealistic to carry a bike through many sections impossible to ride. I mean you'd be carrying your pack as well. Nice idea but not doable sorry mate.
