Itinerary description
Explored the rural countryside and country lanes of Witta just outside Maleny this morning. The hike began at 466 Maleny Kenilworth Road (cafe on corner). This 16km circuit afforded the group with some lovely rural views, picturesque homes and some fun letterboxes.
The terrain is alongside busy roads in part but majority is quiet backroads and verges. Elevation is good, undulating and not too challenging.
This is a good 16km training circuit for those contemplating the Camino Frances albeit distance is shorter than a day on Camino the sense was of Galicia with the rolling hillside and distant landscape panorama. (Ignore km on map, I forgot to stop recording).
Cafe offers simple fare and coffee, service affable & accommodating for our group of 12.
