Itinerary description
Starting from Nerja Caves cross over the bridge to Maro. Go left to end of Maro and under the Autovia, then up the Barranco about 45 minutes to the rock cairn. Take trail to the right about 25 minutes to T-Junction, turn left and follow trail to ruins of Cortijo Ruffino. A great bag lunch spot is on the other side of the ruins with fantastic view down to Nerja and in clear weather to Torremolinos. Then continue trail to road going up to Cielo, but turn left and follow road all the way down to where it runs into El Pinero road. Turn left for shorter walk back to Nerja Caves. Turn right and go up about 200 meters and go down rocky zig-zag and turn left down Barranco for about 50 minutes. Watch for stone cairn near end and follow steep trail to the left which leads out of Barranco and back to the main road down to Nerja Caves. A nice loop hike!
