Itinerary description
Part of a continuous and lengthy path that runs along the shoreline of Lake Ontario. This hike starts in Coronation Park (just west of Bathurst Street and Lake Shore Boulevard) and finishes at High Park. The path is popular and used by joggers, walkers, bikers and I saw a few roller bladers too. From a weather viewpoint keep in mind that the lake has a noticeable effect on the temperature.
Lots of birds spotted down by the water including ducks, geese, cormorants and sea gulls. A few tennis courts, a couple of rowing clubs, small beaches and several picnic areas are seen along the way. Nice views of the water, shoreline and skyline with only minor noise interruptions from nearby traffic.
As a portion of the Trans Canada Trail it's a path worth seeing and can be extended in either direction or simply retraced to get you back to your start point. High Park is beautiful, for more information on it check out the separate Wikiloc listing. There are lots of public transit services (TTC) to help you get in and out.
