Itinerary description
Mostly easy hiking from Tennessee Pass to Turquoise Lake. The trail from the pass is a somewhat monotonous hike through lodgepole forest, but then comes out in Longs Gulch, a nice little valley. It then humps over a few ridges to Bear and Galena Lakes. There are nice views of the Upper Ark valley back to the north and east, and occasional good views of Mts. Massive and Elbert to the south and west. Instead of touring around the last ridge (as the topo maps show) it unconscionably goes 500 feet straight up and over the ridge, then right back down again to Turquoise L.
