Itinerary description

It is a path used by the few inhabitants of the mountain range, farmers with small coffee farms. Sometimes it's hard to see where to go because there are several options for secondary paths.
There is no map, just a "sketch" made by Finca Carpe Diem. The best option is to hire a guide who knows the trail.
There are dangerous snakes and when it rains, the streams increase in flow and the current is very strong in some places.

Feb 2022 from finca to Minca. First hour nice views in forrest and next to river. Then trenches start uphill and turn into and small paths that are overgrown like only a few people a year take this route. This takes about two hours. All uphill. We found it quite hard. Don't do this route without gps, it's difficult to keep on track. Views on top are nice.

The path was completely overgrown- at times we had no idea where to go. Do not do this without a machete/guide!

Really nice trail and beautiful experience walking through the jungle. The map is easy to follow and most of the trail has an ok path (when we did it). You might take a few misturns but can quickly figure out if you stick to the map.

When you get to the farm house, there are 2 guard dogs but they are pretty small and seem to just be really protective. They do bark a lot, so we waited a couple minutes for the farmer to come tie them up.

Most of the hike is moderate but some parts are a bit more advanced as it’s steep and sandy.

It took us 5h30 at a steady pace with 3 breaks. You’ll pass 2 river streams, i recommend swimming as it’s really refreshing and it helps cool down with the heat. Bring a lot of water and snacks.

Overall beautiful walk and experience. Highly recommend !

Very aggressive guard dogs and the trail was difficult to follow. I would strongly advise against this, and if you are going to attempt it, carry a stick to defend yourself against the dogs.
