Itinerary description
Great hike. Started from the Comella car park and follow the marked trail (yellow dots) which winds up through the pine forest. Not too bad going. Once you leave the pine forest, you get spectacular views down into St Julia and across into Spain. Continue to follow the trail and you come across a refuge (unmarked) and then shortly after another refuge (unmarked) Continue to follow the trail and you will be able to see the large Cross up ahead. Once you reach the Collada de la Caulla there is an old weather station(I think) and a small concrete structure. The views from here are spectacular and you can see Spain, Andorra and France. I continued up to the Cross which was worth it although quite difficult due to some snow and loose rocks.....definitely worth it though and I continued on a little bit further so I could see down into the Madiu Valley and there is also great views of Engolasters Lake and Prat Primer Refuge.
I followed the trail to the east on the way down which contours around and brings you out almost at Prat Primer Refuge. It is then just a walk down the valley which can be quite steep in places.
Definitely worth doing to see the views and to enjoy Andorra
