Itinerary description

Nice winter hike crossing from NE to SW Mt Tendre (1679m). The trail goes through mostly north facing sides of the mountain so expect big accumulations of snow in most parts of it (knee-deep in some places). This was the reason for our slow speed. Bring a pair of snowshoes if you can. This will shorten the time it takes to complete the route by at least 1h. Once you come out of the north face of the mountain and onto the crest, the views of the Alps and the Mont Blanc massif are spectacular. If you come by public transport as we did, keep an eye out for the last bus leaving Col de Marchairuz at 17:47.
