It is mandatory (and recommended) to hire a guide. In Banaue there is no problem finding one. In 2022 the price was 1500 php per day (about €30) The route can be done in 1 day (quite hard) or in 2 days spending the night in Cambulo, a small village where only a simple hostel worked but they treated us very well . There is wifi in the hostel and 0 coverage throughout the tour.
