Itinerary description
Take the bus 55 at Bariloche to Catedral Ski park. The trail begins with a beautiful trek over a flat step of mountains, with a nice view to the lake below. Then, the trail enters a gorgeous woods, being mostly sided by a small water course. Then the first steep part of the trek begins, ending up at the Refugio Frey, which is flanked by a lake and stone walls. Camping here is highly recommended. The trail then follows the lake shore and then a very steep stone wall is to be climbed, ending up at the Schmoll lake, with a pictoresque scenario. After flanking the lake, the trail becomes very steep again, leading to a mountain crest. The trail here is not inclined, but still very demanding. Next, the trail leads to the ski park of Catedral. As I got there at 5 pm, it was closed. But it is probable that the descending part of the trek may be completed by cable car if you get there earlier. I classified this trek as moderate due to the physical demand, although it is not technically demanding. The trail gets intensely windy on the crest part.

A trilha é linda e tive a sorte de pegar neve na subida com céu aberto no refúgio. Foi mágico!
Está muito bem marcada. Se houver insegurança, procure pelas marcações vermelhas e amarelas.
Há uns pequenos trechos escorregadios, mas nada que seja complicado, basta atenção.
Há outro refúgio abandonado pelo caminho que adiciona um contexto prévio. Muitíssimo interessante! Vale buscar infos sobre.
Na volta, há uma bifurcação que leva a Villa Coihues (me distrai, peguei essa, mas continuei por ser um caminho diferente e possível - tem no wikiloc). Na Villa, a não ser que vc tenha carro, não há ônibus e tem que pedir carona para vencer outros vários km até a rodovia e pegar o ônibus de volta a Bariloche.
Ah! Era para ter ido e voltado pelo mesmo local, mas as condições climáticas não deixaram fazer a trilha circular... Uma pena...
