After catching a tourist bus in Kathmandu direction Besi Sahar (500 rupees, 7h) we looked like crazy a jeep at the last minute to climb us to Jagat (1500 rupees, 3h)
From Jagat we started the Annapurnas circuit the next day. The road is easy to follow, there is a forest track that goes up near the river to Manang, "adapted" to some extent for the jeeps. Luckily for backpackers the trail offers alternatives along trails that come and go to this forest trail. The choice of the route of the first day was somewhat risky, because of the unevenness and distance to travel, perhaps a good option would have been to stay in Dharapani and leave the next day to Chame. But the desire took us to Timang. The circuit begins through wet and jungle valleys, and above all very vertical. As we gain altitude the valleys open up and the jungle areas become forests. The road runs quietly, crossing the river from time to time, until a small climb before Dharapani, which is followed by another 2h to Timang, a beautiful wet forest area.
