Itinerary description

EN: Start and arrival: Chemin J-A Zinnen, L-7626 Larochette (town hall)

The trail starts at the town hall, ascends to the Gudelterhaff and continues to the Noumerleeën. These beautiful rock formations are typical in the region of the Luxembourgish sandstone and show many different geological structures. The remains of a refuge castle, the Alebuerg, can be found as well as traces of charcoal piles. Through the forest Knappbësch and passing close to a chapel, the trail leads to the Heisgeskräiz, assumedly the oldest wayside cross in Luxembourg. Passing nearby the castle, the trail leads back to the town hall.

The combination of forests and forest roads near Larochette, on the one hand, and the spectacular cliffs of Noumerleeën, on the other, is very successful. These cliffs, although not located on the Mullerthal Trail (they are still on an Extra Tour) are some of the most spectacular you will find in Luxembourg.

Beautiful trail from Larochette centre up to the forest and, in my opinion one of the most beautiful trails (Nommerlayen).
