Itinerary description
This is a very nice forest walk that starts at the parking situated just outside Lamanere.
We did our own version but there is also a much shorter one which is indicated by yellow markings with the number 1 under them.
The waypoint shows you where to start this walk from the parking place. This is only a 4.5 kilometre-walk.
Our walk is a bit steep at the very beginning but once you get to the signposted track the going is gentle. This beautiful track takes you to the chapel of Sainte Christine, an isolated chapel on the border of a beautiful large green field.
Once you cross the field you will have a good view of the Tour de Cabrens, of which you also got glimpses while you were going up.
After crossing this field the signposted walk goes to the right, but we took the one to the left which takes you through the woods for 4 or five kilometres hardly going up or down. A very nice level walk in the shade.
Once you get to Lamanere again we took the path that goes to the left and which gives you a beautiful view of how the village has been constructed.
Going on after passing the village, you go on until you reach the white-red marked track that goes on the left to the Notre Dame de Coral and on the right to Lamanere.
We took the right turn and this is a lovely track that takes you to a big picnic place and an ancient bridge that you cross to ascend to Lamanere. Beyond the bridge there are also good places to bathe your feet in the river.
