Circuit C6 Consdorf - Schelmelee

Cette promenade débute par une descente plutôt vertigineuse moyennant des escaliers pour franchir la vallée du ruisseau Biersbaach. Une montée dans le versant d'en face aboutit sur un plateau où le sentier longe le bord de la hêtraie pour s'engager quelques cents mètres plus loin dans un terrain vallonné, parsemé de falaises et de rocs spectaculaires tel l'abri sous roche appelé Schelmelee. Depuis l'âge de la pierre jusque dans un passé récent ce genre d'abri servait d'hébergement à l'homme. Par après, le sentier se faufile à travers un labyrinthe de rocs épars présentant une multitude de formes bizarres, le résultat d'une érosion toujours active. Une flore riche en espèces de mousse et de fougère et surtout en houx commun (ilex aquifolium), au feuillage persistant, attirera l'attention des amateurs botanistes. Ensuite, la traversée et la montée époustouflantes jusqu'au point de vue de la formation rocheuse spectaculaire nommée Rammelee offrira des motifs photographiques uniques. Le sentier continue sur le plateau, au bord de la forêt et s'engage dans un chemin asphalté qui mène vers  Consdorf, offrant par endroits une belle vue panoramique sur le village.

At the beginning of this trail, many stairs into the steep valley of the Biersbaach will require some surefootedness. A quite exhausting ascent follows, which will lead you along the edge of the forest, partly over flat terrain, partly in a constant up-and-down to the narrow valley of the Alsbaach. Here you will find the impressive rock formation Schelmelee, one of those typical overhanging rocks which have served humans as shelter since the stone age and up until the recent past. A quarter of an hour later, you will reach one of the most spectacular collection of rocks on the grounds of Consdorf, the Rammelee. This entire, wildly romantic area captivates visitors with its curious shapes and rock faces in the midst of an impressive flora, especially the European holly (ilex aquifolium). Having crossed the breath-taking Rammelee up to the viewpoint, the flat path now soon leads you out of the forest. Continuing on a tarred path which meanders through both forest and open fields with beautiful panoramic views of the village, you will soon find yourself in Consdorf again.
