Itinerary description
This path starts from the port of San Marco di Castellabate and leads to the Licosa point. It is named after the siren Leukosia.
Just at the beginning of the path, you can admire the underwater remains of the pier of the old Roman harbor, probably built on an older greek landing place. The Licosa point is included into a sea marine protected reserve and it is characterized by a low rocky shore and shallow water with a rich marine flora and fauna (Licosa shoals) that could be admired by snorkeling.
The headland is covered by a vast forest of Aleppo pines and "macchia" and there are the ruins of an ancient tower and a little rock with a small landing site. Overlooking the cape and there is the Licosa island on which stands a lighthouse.
The area is a nesting site for sea turtles.

Nice trail, and indeed simple. One note: at the end, there is a bit of private property that makes the trail impassable. You have two options. If you walk along the rocky beach (getting your feet in the shallow water) you can circular around. Or walk back and take the road that splits left, and you'll also make it.
