Itinerary description
Second stage on the way from Lukla to Mera peak.
If features the crossing of Zartwa La, 4610 m, which is a steep ascent from, Chutanga. After a first pass, which is morally the most important one, an undulating section brings the the true highest point, from where a short descent leads to the wonderful Thuli Kharka settlement.
Consider that the Zartwa La crossing is the true key-point of the ascent to Mera Peak as far as acclimatization is concerned. Namely, in 24 hours you ascend from the 2800 m of Lukla (where probably you have just arrived from the 1300 m of Kathmandu) fo the 4600 m of the pass.
