Thanks, we got this picture in the Yanama Pass, but, we dont know the name of the peak. Is not the Alpamayo which is located in the Callejos de Huaylas far to the north.
Cheers https://es.wikiloc.com/rutas-senderismo/choquequiraw-hidroelec-490412/photo-133685
Hey there! We plan to do the same trip in July. How did you get to Choquequirao? is a bus from cuzco available to get there?
Greetings, Lorenz
Hey Lorenz,
You have to go from Cuzco to Abancay that is another town by bus (they have a schedule, that you should check arriving to Cuzco), or do the way we did. We take a small bus (that leaves when is full or almost full) to Curahuasi that is a detour to Abancay and other small villages, then we take a car from here to Abancay. The whole trip take around 4 hours. We spent the night in Abancay and the next day at 5 am we take a car that take us to Cachora that is the town where the hike start.
I hope you enjoy the trip.
Mauro
Thank you for the quick answer!
Did you have a guide? is it recommended or is the way easy to find? How long did you take for the whole track? Sorry for asking so many questions^^
Greetings, Lorenz
We did not have a guide. Is easier now if you have a GPS with the track, but, your problem could be the language, so, will be better for you to find a guide in Cuzco.
We did the whole track in eight days because was our first time and we wanted to know the places. Other guys like Vic Hanson did the trek in five days: http://www.summitpost.org/route/469333/Choquequirao-Machu-Picchu-Trek.html , check this web page because it has a lot of good advice and also you can print the map and use it with your GPS if you decide to do the hike by yourself.
hey, when you did this track you found people doing the same route and there are places to eat?
