From Askole, we drove to this point on the forest track, which I identify as Chobrok based on the map we carry. Maybe we really started dating later. There is a kind of gas station here to assist the vehicles, as well as the excavator that continues to extend the track in the direction of the Baltoro.
Traditionally trekking started at Askole or Jhola (some still do), but the fact that the vehicle track has been extended means that it can be started later. At the height of Jhola, the army has built a new bridge that allows crossing the Dumordo river without problems. When this bridge did not exist, one had to go through the Jhola field. Now you don't have to.
From Chobrok we start the Baltoro trekking.
