Itinerary description
Easy but enormously rewarding hike to the church of Profitis Ilias at top of the vulcano-shaped hill, which can be seen from afar.
The very well signalled trail starts next to the school and leads for the most past through shady forests.
The 360-panoramic view at the top is magic: From the Golf of Navarino through to Kalamata and the Messinian plane until this hill’s big brother Profits Ilias (2407m).
On the way down, I decided to follow the dirt road spiralling round and round the hill for the upper half. The fantastic panorama is worth the extra mile! For the last bit, I took again the regular footpath.
Suitable for children. Watching the sunset from the top must be magic!
