Itinerary description
This is the trail from the info centre at the park entrance through the forest to Mill Brook Cove, down to the beach and along the beach back to the info centre.
The forest section of the trail only offers a couple of spots with ocean views. But it is interesting to experience an east coast forest. The larger spruce trees you see are more than 100 years old. Unfortunately the spruce bug has killed many of them. On this spring hike there wildflowers alongside the trail and the deciduous trees were just in bud.
The beach section lets you see the interesting geology of the area. You can see how the ocean is slowly eroding the bluffs. The beach is safely accessible only at low tide - check with the Info centre before starting!
The trail is well maintained & adequately marked.
I would give the forest section an AVA rating of 3C & the beach section a 1A rating.
