Itinerary description
Very good hike, mainly following the 'water variant' of Via Francigena. The marshy area of Padule di Fucecchio was particularly pleasant with an abundance of herons, egrets and other birds, but also the rest of the route was good; beautiful views and - for the most part - well away from traffic. The last few kilometers just before Fucecchio was on a seemingly very rarely used path along a canal; fun, but quite difficult in sometimes waist-high grass on an uneven surface difficult to see. Some parts well signposted, other parts not.
