Itinerary description
Today’s half day hike started at the Chick Hill trailhead (small carpark with signage).
The first 1km to Chick Hill was steep and rocky but afforded some beautiful distant views towards Mt Buffalo.
Onwards along the track we continued till Chick Hill Tk intersected with Ridge Tk.
Taking Ridge Tk east bound we ended at the Mt Glenrowan Lookout (aka Mt Kelly), a nod to the Bush ranger Ned Kelly who frequented the area for viewing vantage points.
We returned to the Chick Hill Tk and descended to the carpark area.
This track is a good option for those seeking a more interesting track than Taminick Gap start point of Ridge Tk. Distance is same but terrain more challenging.
Hiking poles recommended as are sturdy hiking footwear.

The End!
Fabulous descent, need to take one’s time as it’s very steep and rocky. Poles recommended.
