Itinerary description
Chavaz Village near Behdeh Village, is located 24 miles east of Parsian town of the Hormozgan Province. Parsian is located in the west of Hormozgan, near border of this Province and Bushehr Province. There is a long but not high mountain between Behdeh-Chavaz area and Persian Gulf, that is known as Khalfani mountain. The trend of this mountain is northwest-southeast, similar to main trend of the Fars Zagros Mountains. The mountain is geologically an anticline that is formed from some Cenozoic rock units belonging to the Zagros Stratigraphy. The valley has been incised by an intermittent stream. As you know a stream is one of the most important erosional factors in the earth surface. Among local people, the valley is called Tang-e-Bandar and it has northeast-southwest trend. This stream drains surface waters from south of Behdeh-Chavaz area during precipitation and flows to the Persian Gulf. Some tributaries attach to this main stream. The head of Tang-e-Bandar valley is situated in the south of Chavaz village, and the outlet of the valley in the southwest is situated near a part of Persian Gulf coast known as Doberkeh Coast. Incision of beds of some upper Cenozoic rock units belonging to the Zagros Stratigraphy, causes the valley to be a very proper place to observe the geological features. So there are a lot of such features in the valley. we went trekking in this beautiful valley (Tang-e-Bandar), from Chavaz Village (start point of the valley) to Doberkeh Coast of Persian Gulf (finish point of the valley) in winter 2018. The length of trekking is about 8.7 miles.
