Itinerary description
The second part of a two days trip from Avdat to Mitzpe Ramon. Starting from Chava creek camping site its a short walk to Chava creek. The creek curves a deep gorge in the desert rock, with a few large dry waterfalls and water pools (full after rain or floods). The trail follows the southern bank of the creek, high above the gorge, with nice viewpoints over the water pools and waterfalls. Then it decends to the creek's bottom and visits some of the water pools in the shade of the high goirge walls. The trails climbs again until we reach the edge of the Ramon Maktech (crater) with occasional views down to the colorful crater. From this point its a long walk along adirt road to Mitzpe Ramon.
